In his book, Coming to Our Senses, Jon Kabat-Zinn asks, "What would we lose, and what might be gained from a radical shift in perspective on ourselves to a larger, more expansive and perhaps more fundamental view?"

As a single woman in my middle years (whatever they are!), I often feel incomplete. I feel I have to accomplish more, find ways to reinvent myself, make a difference in the world, expand my horizons. But what if we are larger and more expansive than we realize? What if we already have everything we need to be happy and complete? I know I get in my own way and become self-obsessed with my desires and goals. Maybe a "radical shift in perspective" would allow me to listen to myself and others with more appreciation and awareness. Hopefully, I would take life less seriously and enjoy the wonder and beauty of each moment.

Enough. These few words are enough.
If not these words, this breath.
If not this breath, this sitting here.

This opening to the life
we have refused
again and again
until now.

Until now.
